LA SEDIA SRL constantly strives to ensure and improve ethical and social standards within its organisation by regularly undergoing the SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), one of the most recognised and respected social audits worldwide. This assessment process is essential to verify that our company adheres to strict criteria relating to workers’ rights, health and safety, environmental management and business ethics.
The SMETA audit is designed to analyse various aspects of company operations, including workplace safety, fair treatment of employees, the presence of human rights policies and responsible environmental management. Passing this audit is a prerequisite for being accredited as a Sedex supplier, a global network of companies promoting social responsibility and business ethics.
In the context of this audit, numerous factors are examined, including compliance with labour regulations, transparency in recruitment practices, employee health and safety conditions and the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. An important part of the audit also concerns the direct involvement of employees, who are interviewed on a random basis to ensure that their voices and opinions are heard and that they can freely express any concerns.

FSC Certification – Responsible Forest Management
LA SEDIA SRL is FSC® certified, the label that guarantees responsible and sustainable forest management. The FSC® certification attests that our company adopts production practices that respect high environmental, social and economic standards.
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international non-governmental organisation that promotes responsible management of forest resources worldwide. It is committed to practices that promote environmental conservation, the well-being of local communities and economic sustainability. FSC® works to ensure that forests are managed in a way that does not compromise their biodiversity, productivity and ability to regenerate over time. LA SEDIA SRL mainly uses beech wood from European forests in its production process. Much of this is FSC® certified, thus ensuring that the wood used in our chairs and furniture comes from sustainably managed forests. The FSC® certification not only protects the environment, but also supports local communities and promotes a circular economy, ensuring that each stage of production respects ethical and responsible principles.

More than 70 per cent of the packaging used for our products is made from recycled materials, while 100 per cent of the packaging is fully recyclable.
